Smarter Grantmaking Starts Here: Key Enhancements in Salesforce Summer ’25 Release.
Jenna from the ImagineCRM team here!
Well, Summer has almost arrived, hello warmer weather and fresh fruit, cold drinks to quench your thirst on a hot day, and so has Salesforce’s latest release.
And while the full release notes clock in at 795 pages [don’t panic, I did all the heavy lifting for you!] - I’ve pulled out the updates that matter most for grantmaking teams.
About the Summer Release:
The Summer ’25 release is packed with enhancements that simplify your processes, save time, and enable your team to be even more strategic. Whether you’re building complex approval workflows or scheduling funding disbursements, this release helps you do more with less.
Faster Approvals with Flow: Set Up with Ease
We shared back in spring that Salesforce had made improvements to flows and that continues in this round of release notes! We have updates to improve the Flow Approval Process tools introduced in Spring. With the new Approvals app and wizard, you can now jumpstart your approval process setup in minutes. Whether you’re managing a straightforward sign-off or a complex multi-step review cycle, flow gives you more flexibility than traditional approval processes.
New features include:
A guided setup wizard to get started quickly
Delegation options when approvers are unavailable
A recall path so submitters can revise and resubmit when needed
These updates give grantmakers more control and clarity over how funding decisions are made.
Three standout updates are tailored specifically for grantmaking organizations, each designed to reduce admin and improve consistency. [Who doesn’t love saving time!]
Disbursement Scheduler (Flow Template)
When creating a new funding award, grant managers can now automate related funding disbursements across the grant timeline. Just set the number, amount, and frequency, and Salesforce takes care of the rest.
Requirements Wizard (Flow Template)
Automatically generate requirements such as monthly reports, financial updates, or quarterly outcomes at the point of award creation. No need to manually add each one.
Progress Report Templates
Grantmakers can now define standard report formats and link them to requirements. Once the requirement is active, Salesforce will generate the appropriate progress report form using the template, saving time and ensuring consistency.
What This Means for our incredible sector of Grantmakers
Automate routine steps like disbursements and reporting
Set up structured, flexible approval flows with ease
Drive consistency across grants, programs, and funders
Give your team time back for strategic thinking and relationship-building
While these are the most exciting for grantmakers, a few other updates caught our eye:
Gift Entry Grid Enhancements – faster data entry for fundraising teams
Permission Set Summaries – see and edit what each user can access more easily
Dynamic Related Lists on Mobile (Beta) – view dynamic lists from mobile devices
Reports Enhancements – send dashboard subscriptions to a designated email and refresh individual widgets
